1. Is the Diploma recognised?

The Diploma of Information Technology ICA50199 is an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) qualification from the Information Technology Training Package ICA99. This is the same national qualification that is offered by TAFE and is therefore deemed equivalent through the mutual recognition principles set out by the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA).

In addition, Lloyds International College's IT Diploma courses are accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS), Australia's premier IT industry association. Persons who complete the Diploma of Information Technology are eligible for membership of the ACS at grade of Provisional Associate (AACS Prov) on completion of the course, and eligible for regrade to Associate (AACS) on the achievement of two years of relevant industry experience in information technology. Students are eligible to apply for Student membership of the Society.

3. I am an experienced IT professional and/or have completed previous study. Am I eligible for advanced standing / credit?

ICOM and Lloyds International College recognise that at the time of enrolment, students may already possess some of the knowledge and skills that are imparted during the course. For example, students may have substantial work experience and/or completed formal study in relevant disciplines. Or, they may have already achieved one or more of the applicable vendor certifications.

It is therefore possible to apply for advanced standing towards the program through a process of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Students who have been granted RPL may be exempt from undertaking parts of the course.
